This Is Why You Never Show Up to Your Own Wedding Drunk

An Australian groom showed up drunk to his wedding in February and things apparently went downhill from there. Jacob Brookes was out let for his bachelor party the night before the ceremony and when it began he was noticeably buzzed. The pastor refused to perform the marriage ceremony with the groom in such a state, and this made Brookes a bit peeved. The police were called in and they arrested him at the church.

Brookes was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He appeared in court this week and publicly denied that he was in any way as drunk as has been reported. He said, “I had three beers, two Jamos [Jameson Whiskey], two shots of Jamo – that’s not drunk.”

Things are also not so good with his intended, for Brookes said, “I miss her to bits.” He admits he now regrets not just having that particular pastor show up, but that the bachelor party was the night before the wedding. Because after all, the last time that happened the groom ended up on the roof and one of Mike Tyson‘s tigers went missing.
