Trump Flips Out on Journalist: ‘You’re Not a Very Good Reporter’
At the same presser where he conceded that he would “most likely” not attend this Thursday’s Republican debate, Donald Trump avoided answering a question about his pro-choice record by shouting down the reporter who posed it.
An unidentified journalist pressed Trump on a 1999 interview he gave to Tim Russert, in which he said he was “very pro-choice.” The reporter asked if social conservatives could trust Trump since he had apparently flipped on the issue.
“What did I say? You didn’t read it,” Trump said. “Read the full statement of what I said. Read the full statement.”
A short while later the reporter returned with the entire statement:
I’m very pro-choice. I hate the concept of abortion, I hate it. I hate everything it stands for. I cringe when I listen to people debating the subject. But, you still, I just believe in choice.
“Correct,” Trump said. “Why didn’t you read that — by the way, why didn’t you read that before?”
Rather than address his stated pro-choice beliefs, Trump hammered the reporter for not pulling up the full statement earlier.
The reporter cited the lack of wi-fi. “Well, you gotta get wi-fi,” Trump said. “Don’t ask me questions like that. You’re not a good reporter doing that.”
