Trump Greets NYT’s New Publisher: Treat Me ‘Fairly’ And ‘Lose All Your Phony’ Sources

The president back at work and in the White House after spending the holidays at Mar-a-Lago, and so far he’s spent the morning by being extremely online. He had something to say about, well, pretty much everything, tossing out tweets about Iran, Huma Abedin, tax reform, North Korea and commercial aviation safety.
He also found time to offer up his opinion on the New York Times’ new publisher, A.G. Sulzberger. And you can bet he used his favorite insult for the Times.
The Failing New York Times has a new publisher, A.G. Sulzberger. Congratulations! Here is a last chance for the Times to fulfill the vision of its Founder, Adolph Ochs, “to give the news impartially, without fear or FAVOR, regardless of party, sect, or interests involved.” Get…

….impartial journalists of a much higher standard, lose all of your phony and non-existent “sources,” and treat the President of the United States FAIRLY, so that the next time I (and the people) win, you won’t have to write an apology to your readers for a job poorly done! GL

As you can see in the tweets above, the president offered up “congratulations” to Sulzberger while simultaneously calling on the paper to hire more “impartial journalists” and to treat him “FAIRLY.” He further noted that they should stop relying on their “non-existent” sources before once again making the false claim that the NYT had to apologize to their readers over their coverage of the 2016 election.
One can only assume what Trump considers an impartial journalist and how he thinks the paper should fairly treat him.
While the president has constantly railed against the New York Times and described the paper as “failing” countless times, he also tends to give the Gray Lady exclusive interviews on a regular basis. During his holiday break, Trump provided the Times with an off-the-cuff interview at his golf club, catching his own staffers off guard.
