President Donald Trump says he’s considering a veto for the spending bill because DREAMers “have been totally abandoned.”
“I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded,” Trump wrote.

This Tweet comes one day after OMB Director Mick Mulvaney assured reporters that Trump would indeed sign the bill.
“Let’s cut right to the chase,” Mulvaney said. “Is the president going to sign the bill? The answer is yes.”
Politico’s Jake Sherman summed up the consequences of the president’s threat:
Few things on Trump’s veto threat
Congress is gone. 60 members of the House are at a former congresswoman’s funeral.
Govt will shut down.
And if he does veto, he’s going to get a much, much, much worse deal on everything from military spending to his wall, per aides in talks.

And Trump, earlier in the week, touted the money in the bill allocated towards the border wall:
Got $1.6 Billion to start Wall on Southern Border, rest will be forthcoming. Most importantly, got $700 Billion to rebuild our Military, $716 Billion next year…most ever. Had to waste money on Dem giveaways in order to take care of military pay increase and new equipment.
