Trump: Megyn Kelly ‘Should Not Be Allowed to Be a Moderator’ at Next Week’s Debate
Next week Fox News is hosting another Republican debate, and Donald Trump is setting his sights on kicking out one of the moderators:
Based on @MegynKelly's conflict of interest and bias she should not be allowed to be a moderator of the next debate.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016
That’s right, Trump is deciding to––just now, less than a week beforehand––make an issue of this. Kind of odd, seeing as how Kelly’s moderation of the debate, along with Chris Wallace and Bret Baier, was known for a while.
Presumably Trump is steamed at Kelly this time over the fact that, just this week, she had on a bunch of the conservative writers behind the big National Review anti-Trump manifesto. It is worth noting, though, that despite how nasty Trump has been towards her, Kelly has been unbelievably fair in her coverage of the GOP frontrunner.
So you would think that after Kelly committed the unforgivable sin of asking a leading presidential candidate tough questions and Trump spent way more time than necessary complaining about it, Trump would have raised objections the second Kelly was announced for round two.
It’s almost as if, instead of trying to resolve this like adults behind closed doors, Trump is trying to make a spectacle of the entire thing. But obviously Trump is not someone who would prioritize spectacle over substance…
