Trump Rails Against Treatment of Michael Flynn: ‘WITCH HUNT!’

President Donald Trump took to Twitter this morning to rail against the treatment of Michael Flynn by the special counsel’s office.

Flynn is going to be sentenced days from now, and he asked the judge this week for no jail time and probation/community service instead. Robert Mueller‘s office said that he has provided “substantial assistance.”

Trump this morning, after his tweetstorm declaring “I never directed Michael Cohen to break the law,” decried the treatment of Flynn and declared this whole thing a “WITCH HUNT” again:

They gave General Flynn a great deal because they were embarrassed by the way he was treated – the FBI said he didn’t lie and they overrode the FBI. They want to scare everybody into making up stories that are not true by catching them in the smallest of misstatements. Sad!……

I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!
