Trump Hiring Lawyer Who Has Argued ‘FBI and DOJ People’ Tried to ‘Frame’ POTUS (UPDATED)
President Trump is apparently looking to hire another lawyer––one who has appeared on TV as recently as January defending him and claiming POTUS has been “framed.”
Former U.S. attorney Joseph diGenova, per the New York Times, is being brought in to “bolster his legal team,” though the report does clarify “Mr. Trump frequently changes his mind and sometimes adjusts his plans based on media coverage.”
And as the Times also notes, he has publicly argued that the President is the subject of a frame job.
Back in January, amid coverage of the Peter Strzok texts, diGenova appeared with Tucker Carlson (video above, via Fox News) and said it looks like there was “a brazen plot to illegally exonerate Hillary Clinton and, if she didn’t win the election, to then frame Donald Trump with a falsely created crime.”
And he emphasized that same point again:
“Make no mistake about it, a group of FBI and DOJ people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime.”
In that same appearance, he was critical of FBI Director Christopher Wray. Days before James Comey‘s firing last year, diGenova appeared with Carlson and said, “James Comey is a danger to the country.”
When Comey was fired, diGenova said it was the right call and told Carlson that Comey “acted like he was the attorney general.”
And diGenova was on Fox News just last week, again with Carlson, tearing into Andrew McCabe days before his firing. Watch above, via Fox News.
