Trump Tells Hannity Putin Denied Meddling: He Was ‘Very, Very Strong’

President Donald Trump spoke to Sean Hannity after his meeting with Vladimir Putin on Monday. And in his conversation with the Fox News host, the U.S. president lavished praise on the leader of Russia.

Hannity started things off by complimenting Trump for invoking Hillary Clinton and the DNC during his press conference (which happened during a sequence in which Trump sowed doubt about America’s intelligence agencies). Trump spoke about his closed-door meetings with the Russian leader, claiming that Putin told him “there was no collusion whatsoever.”

“I guess he said as strongly as you can say it, they have no information on Trump.”

Of course, it didn’t take long before he blasted the questions he received during Monday’s press conference over the Russia “witch hunt” — even though special counsel Robert Mueller just indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers, accusing them of meddling in the 2016 election.

“I don’t think the people out in the country buy it, but the reporters like to give it a shot. I thought that President Putin was very, very strong.”
