New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spent the weekend catching rays at the beach in Berkley Township, NJ, and now he’s catching heat on social media.
With his approval rating at 15 percent, and his state in the middle of a government shutdown due to a budget dispute, Christie and his family hit the beach —a public beach which is currently closed to the public as a result of the shutdown.
The photos, obtained by the Star Ledger, quickly made the rounds on cable news and on social media, and they have people cracking up. Here’s a sampling of some of the sarcastic responses on Twitter:
