Twitter Reveals the Most-Tweeted Moments from #GOPDebate
It should come as no surprise that Donald Trump was the most-mentioned presidential candidate on Twitter during last night’s primetime GOP debate on Fox News (he was also the most-searched on Google in all 50 states). But according to Twitter’s analysis, the most-tweeted moment of the debate had nothing to do with Trump.
Yes, Trump led the discussion on Twitter, followed by Ben Carson:

2. @RealBenCarson
3. @RandPaul

But the most-tweeted moment was actually the showdown between Chris Christie and Rand Paul over government surveillance:

Of course, the next two moments on that list both revolved around Trump:
2. @realDonaldTrump on @HillaryClinton attending his wedding, and telling @RandPaul "you're having a hard time tonight." (2/3)

3. @realDonaldTrump responds to question on language used to describe women. (3/3)

Also of note, the most-retweeted comment of the night from a presidential candidate came not from one of the 10 Republicans on the stage, but rather from Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, who was live-tweeting the event along with his staff.
Sanders’ final assessment of the GOP debate has now been retweeted more than 22,000 times:
It's over. Not one word about economic inequality, climate change, Citizens United or student debt. That's why the Rs are so out of touch.
