Twitter Shreds Trump for Report on ‘Despicable’ Comments About Immigrants: ‘Racist, Cruel’

President Trump‘s grumbling about immigrants set off a great number of people on Twitter this afternoon.
Per the New York Times, earlier this year the President said Haitian immigrants “all have AIDS” and that once Nigerian immigrants saw the U.S., they “would never ‘go back to their huts’ in Africa.”
Twitter swiftly reacted:
This is the kind of despicable thing @realDonaldTrump represents. To say all Haitians have AIDS? Nigerians all live in huts? He has NO REGARD for Black people here or worldwide. This is why he has contempt for Puerto Ricans. People of color mean NOTHING to him. #WeTriedToTellYa https://t.co/EtePCjXOuo

people obsess over "dogwhistles" because it's more comfortable than confronting what's in front of them, but "Haitians all have AIDS," "Nigerians live in huts," and "Mexicans are rapists" are all very direct expressions of an extremely racist worldview

Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists. https://t.co/HW8OQj2C7e

If he tweets like a racist, talks like a racist, is beloved by racists, maybe the President is…racist. https://t.co/CmKpQ9XMin

Reminder that the only consistent policy position Donald Trump has is RACIST: not renting to African-Americans, hounding (innocent) Central Park Five, calling Mexicans rapists, … https://t.co/6FpsLuXmMm

to be clear, Trump has always been a racist piece of shit, but his senility is really bringing out something special https://t.co/ksMs5DqaKg

People shouldn't be surprised that a President who mocks the disabled, attacks Gold Star families, brags about assaulting women, etc. would make racist generalizations. Because of sheer frequency, his ability to shock is diminishing – itself worrisome as it suggests normalization

Even the dictionary again:
Groused means grumbled; complained.
E.g. #POTUS groused this week that Haitian immigrants "all have #AIDS."https://t.co/ZIn6g5dKPc https://t.co/vJ9l3U6nTO
