Two Confirmed Dead in Central Michigan University Shooting, Suspect In Custody (UPDATE)

According to Central Michigan University police, a gunman shot and killed two people on the university campus this morning. Per the police, the two fatally shot are not students and it appears the incident stemmed from a domestic situation.

As of publication, the suspect is still at large. The City of Mt. Pleasant sent out a description of the suspected shooter, noting that he is armed and dangerous:
UPDATE 10:23 a.m.: The suspect is a 19-year-old black male who is approx. 5 foot 9 inches tall. He is wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie. He may have taken off the blue hoodie. He is considered armed & dangerous. If you see the suspect, do not approach him. Call 911.

The suspect has since been identified as James Eric Davis Jr. He is a 19-year-old black male and police say he is 5’10” and approximately 135 pounds.
UPDATE 10:00 AM 3/3/2018: Davis was apprehended without incident by police early Saturday morning. Police have stated that Davis killed both of his parents Friday morning. Davis apparently used the gun of his father, who was a police officer in Illinois, to shoot both of his parents. It has been reported that Davis’ parents were on campus to pick up their son to take him home for spring break.
