Watch Bruce Springsteen And Paul McCartney Perform Classic Beatles Songs Together In London

Whenever musical talents join forces in a live performance, epic things happen. Wonderful, epic things. Sometimes fusing two different talents doesn’t necessarily work out so well, but when Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band were joined on stage by none other than Sir Paul McCartney during a concert in London’s Hyde Park, the result could only be described as a musical orgy.

They performed the classic Beatles songs “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Twist and Shout” to the large audience. They could have gone on longer, but according to Rolling Stone, London officials wouldn’t let them.

The show could have kept going, but they were past curfew by that point and the officials actually pulled the plug.

“The cops got nothing more important to do?” Steve Van Zandt wrote in a series of enraged Tweets after the show. “How about they go catch some criminals instead of fucking with 80,000 people having a good time? English cops may be the only individuals left on earth that wouldn’t want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney! We break curfews in every country but only English cops needs to ‘punish us’ by not letting us leave until the entire crowd goes.”

Buzzkills.
