You may remember back in May when bodyguards for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan roughed up some American protesters while he looked on. And earlier this month, Erdogan claimed that he received an apology from President Donald Trump over the melee, something the White House has since denied.
With Erdogan in New York this week, it appears that his security team has once again gotten violent with protesters who showed up at an event.
The above clip, from Vocal Europe, shows demonstrators getting beaten up by the Turkish president’s bodyguards — all while Erdogan watches on from the stage. After a minute or so, Erdogan tells the audience to “not give this beautiful gathering to a few impertinent hall terrorists.”
There were other angles of the altercation captured, shown below via Yashar Ali:

This confrontation with American protesters — it should be noted — took place on the same day that Erdogan met with Trump on the sidelines of the UN Assembly. The two leaders met this afternoon, with POTUS praising the Turkish leader and stating the two countries have never been closer.
