An uncharacteristically reticent President Donald Trump will emerge from his four-day-long absence from the public eye to deliver remarks on the infrastructure initiative this afternoon in Ohio.
The White House is eager to focus on domestic policy issues after a veritable slew of unfavorable press about the president in recent days. Most of the hullabaloo is centered around Stormy Daniels‘ Sunday evening interview with 60 Minutes, in which the porn star asserted that she had an affair with the president and that she was threatened by an unknown man about keeping quiet in 2011.
In the aftermath of the interview, Trump has been keeping a wide berth between him and the press, which White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders attributed to the president being “incredibly active all week long.”
Trump will be addressing engineers, mechanics, and heavy-equipment operators in this afternoon’s speech, people who would benefit from his spending plan, which creates $1.5 trillion for infrastructure, mostly from state and local governments.
The president’s remarks are slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET. Watch above, via the White House.
