WATCH: Tennis Player Banned From French Open After Forcibly Trying to Kiss TV Reporter

A player has been banned from the French Open after grabbing a TV reporter by the neck and shoulder in an attempt to kiss her.

Maxime Hamou attempted to kiss Eurosport reporter Maly Thomas during an interview after his first round loss in the men’s singles competition. Hamou pulled Thomas towards him and tried to kiss her head several times as she tried to push him away. The grabbing lasted approximately 10 seconds. Hamou even appeared to try to put Thomas in a headlock.

“If I hadn’t been live on air, I would have punched him,” Thomas told Huffington Post France. (via the BBC and For The Win)

Thomas is out of the singles draw, and now, he’s barred from the grounds at Roland Garros. According to a statement by the French Tennis Federation (via the New York Daily News), Hamou’s credentials were pulled due to his “reprehensible behavior with a journalist.”
