Watch: Terrifying Zoo Encounter Between A Little Girl And A Giant Lion

I hate snakes. I hate them more than anything. So, whenever I went to the zoo as a child, I steered clear of the darn Reptile House in favor of spending time with my fellow mammals. Like lions. Lions at the zoo were never scary. They were always just lazily sleeping on a rock or something.

However, I probably would have changed my mind if I had had the experience of Sofia, a tiny New Zealand girl who had got in a fairly unsettling stare down with a giant lion at the zoo.

Seriously, this video is crazy. That lion really, really, really wants to eat that girl. It just goes to prove that most animals aren’t just cute pets here to entertain us.

It also proves that little Sofia clearly has much more trust in one piece of glass than I ever would. Sheesh!
