Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) scolded a reporter pressing her about whether she thinks President Joe Biden should drop his reelection campaign and be replaced on the Democratic Party ticket.

On Wednesday on Capitol Hill, ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott caught up with Pelosi following the former speaker’s appearance that morning on Morning Joe where she said Democrats are “encouraging” the president to make a decision about running when she was asked if she supports his candidacy.

Pelosi later claimed there were “misrepresentations” of her statements.

When Scott caught up with her, Pelosi insisted Biden “can win” against former President Donald Trump in November amid calls from some in his own party to step down. She also made clear she did not want to have the conversation at all as she kept walking as Scott asked her questions.

“I’m not having this conversation with you or anybody else about what I talk with the president about, with all due respect,” Pelosi told Scott when asked about the president.

“Do you believe that —” Scott began before Pelosi jumped back in.

“I never do. I never do so it’s nothing new,” she said.

“I understand, Madame Speaker. Do you believe him waiting so long to make this decision —” Scott began again.

“I’m not going to be making any comments in the hallway about the fate of our nation, okay?” Pelosi said.

Scott continued to press and Pelosi declared Biden can win, but when Scott asked whether he should run for reelection, Pelosi abruptly stopped in the hallway and turned to the reporter.

“Am I speaking English to you?” she said. “I’m not going to be making any statements about any of that right now in the hallway.”
