‘I’m Not a Young Man’: Biden Concedes Old Age After Debate Disaster

President Joe Biden spoke to a crowd of supporters Friday in a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, and closed his remarks by addressing his widely panned debate performance from the night before against Donald Trump.

“Let me close with this. I know I’m not a young man. State the obvious,” Biden said as the crowd cheered in support.
“Well, I know,” Biden said,” adding:

I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth.

I know, I know.

I know right from wrong. Well, I know how to do this job.

I know how to get things done.

I know, like millions of Americans know. When you get knocked down, you get back up.

Biden’s debate performance served to amplify concerns about his age and mental fitness, resulting in widespread calls on the left for him to step aside. Biden made clear during his speech he has no intention of doing so and vowed to win North Carolina come November, saying if he could win the state he would win the election.
