Climate Protesters Get Right Up In Vivek Ramaswamy’s Face To Shout Him Down As a ‘Liar’ At An Iowa Campaign Event

Climate protesters targeted GOP presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy at a campaign event in Iowa where they got right up in his face to shout “Vivek is a liar!”

The protesters held signs that called Ramaswamy a “climate criminal” as one man yelled, “Do you lie to your kids like you lie to us?” just about a foot away from where Ramaswamy stood.

The candidate was heard repeating, “Would you like an answer to your question?” as he was drowned out by the chants.

“That’s what these candidates are dealing with these days,” exclaimed Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, who acknowledged “something similar” happened to Ron DeSantis (R-FL) earlier in the week.

“Vivek, What happened here?” Cavuto asked.

“Look, I think we had a normal campaign event, and I believe in free speech, Neil,” Ramaswamy said, continuing:

Some people disagreed with me, I gave them the mic, and we had a respectful conversation, and I think’s how America was built. We don’t all have to agree on everything, but we do have the right to actually say it. They disagreed with me on my climate policies. I gave them the mic. We had an open conversation, and I think it was a respectful and good way to demonstrate what happens.

I don’t prefer to silence protesters, I prefer to give them the chance to speak. But at the same time, we owe it to this country to make sure that every voice gets heard, not just the people who try to shout each other down. So I think it was an instructive moment, a teaching moment, and I think something positive came out of it last night.

“I give you credit, you did let them speak. Some of them wouldn’t let you speak, and some of them even interrupted you as you were trying to say, ‘I’ll listen, I’ll listen,'” Cavuto said.

Ramaswamy, DeSantis, and Nikki Haley (R-SC) are on the final push of their Iowa campaigns before the caucuses get underway Monday evening. Frontrunner Donald Trump canceled three out of four weekend campaign events in Iowa due to the harsh weather conditions.
