Coca-Cola CEO Awards Trump ‘First Ever Presidential Commemorative’ Diet Coke

Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey awarded President-elect Donald Trump with “the first ever Presidential Commemorative” bottle of Diet Coke on Tuesday, just days before Trump’s inauguration.
“Tonight, President Trump received the first ever Presidential Commemorative Inaugural Diet Coke bottle from the Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola Company, James Quincey,” announced Trump Deputy Director of Communications Margo Martin on Tuesday evening.
Martin posted a photo of Trump grinning as he held the commemorative bottle of Diet Coke, emblazoned with an image of the White House and the words, “The Inauguration of the President of the United States Donald J. Trump.”
Trump’s commemorative Diet Coke was presented to him in a special box, which included a message from the Coca-Cola Company saying it was “proud to continue our decades-long tradition of celebrating the U.S. presidential inauguration.”
The president-elect is a known enthusiast of Diet Coke and reportedly had a big red button on his White House desk to order an assistant to bring him more.
In 2012, Trump famously wrote that he had never “seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke,” but that he would “still keep drinking that garbage” even though the Coca-Cola Company was “not happy” with him.
In January 2o21, the Coca-Cola Company condemned the “unlawful and violent” Capitol riots, which took place following Trump’s defeat to Joe Biden, calling it “an offense to the ideals of American democracy.”
“With the election results now certified, we have faith in America’s democratic institutions to ensure a peaceful transfer of power and allow the U.S. to move forward together as one nation,” they said at the time.
