Rudy Giuliani and MAGA Podcaster Benny Johnson Go All In On Epstein Conspiracy Theory

Rudy Giuliani told conservative commentator Benny Johnson he believes it is “highly unlikely” dead sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein could die by suicide in prison, contrary to the U.S. government’s findings — which were recently confirmed by FBI Director Kash Patel, himself a former purveyor of Epstein conspiracy theories.
The ex-New York City mayor and personal attorney for President Donald Trump shared his opinion on Johnson’s podcast on Monday.
“What about the prison? What about Epstein’s death?” Johnson asked him. “You built that prison, didn’t you?”
“I have to disagree with my good friends here who came to the conclusion [Epstein killed himself],” Giuliani responded. “I find it highly unlikely that you could commit suicide in that prison.”
Epstein died in April 2019 in Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. Giuliani did not build the prison as Johnson said — it was opened in 1975 — but the former mayor said his opinion was informed by knowing the facility well; he said he probably put a “record number” of people in there.
Johnson circled back on the topic soon after, telling Giuliani that the release of more Epstein files has him questioning the official story.
He pointed to a document showing the feds “aggressively” targeted a guard who said Epstein’s body was swapped out on the night he died.
“He says… there was a medical wheelchair that took Epstein out of his cell, he was cuffed, there was no triage nurse, and there was a transfer van that showed up with a military guard under it and then Epstein didn’t return,” Johnson read to Giuliani.
Johnson said the story seemed “insane” at first, but now there are files showing the feds “went after” the guard for his story.
“That seems a little odd,” he said.
He then asked Giuliani if it was “plausible” that Epstein’s body was replaced and the whole scene was “staged.”
The former mayor said it’s “not plausible” but warranted a “much more thorough investigation” based on the evidence. He questioned former Attorney General William Barr’s probe, saying it did not seem as extensive as he would have liked.
“Here they seem to have run down very little,” Giuliani said. “So, you know, I think you’re quite right in having a sense of justifiable doubt about it.”
The DOJ and FBI said in a joint release last year:
After a thorough investigation, FBI investigators concluded that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019.
This conclusion is consistent with previous findings, including the August 19, 2019 autopsy findings of the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the November 2019 position of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York in connection with the investigation of federal correctional officers responsible for guarding Epstein, and the June 2023 conclusions of DOJ’s Office of the Inspector General.
Guliani’s comments come just a few days after the Trump administration released the latest batch of files on Epstein.
