Scaramucci Says He and Other Ex-White House Officials Are in a ‘Trump Recovery Unit’

Anthony Scaramucci joked he and other former Donald Trump White House officials are in a “recovery unit” after serving with the former president.

Scaramaucci, who was White House communications director for less than two weeks, joined Morning Joe on Friday to claim his former boss would be a danger to the country in his second term.

Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough asked Scaramucci why he believes Trump would be a “danger to the republic.”

“I mean, there’s a lot to unpack there but let me talk about my colleagues and friends because we’re sort of in this Trump recovery unit together which would include secretary [Mark] Esper, General [Mark] Milley, both speaking at my conference this coming May. It goes down to temperament, it goes down to the lack of curiosity, and and it goes down to the meanness and the way he will hurt anybody and anything in his way. One of the big fights I had with him in the White House was about the institution of the presidency.”

Scaramucci claimed Trump sees the presidency as a “self-grandstanding position.”

The former White House official accused the former president of admiring the “adulation” dictators receive as opposed to the “dissension of dirty democracy.”

“All the policies that you’re discussing today, they’re seen through that prism. They’re not seen through peace, preservation of the democracy, prosperity for all Americans, not just the friends of his he’s cutting taxes for,” Scaramucci said.
