Ted Cruz Confronted About His Efforts to Overturn the Election
Correction: This piece incorrectly first reported on the video as Cruz being confronted by a supporter. Cruz was, in fact, confronted by Lauren Windsor, the undercover reporter whose current Twitter name is “Ted Led the Insurrection / Lauren Windsor.” Mediaite regrets the error.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) found himself incredibly close to what seemed like a maskless supporter on Friday, as she pressed him about his efforts to overturn the election.
Activist Lauren Windsor, creator of web-show The Undercurrent, first posted the video to Twitter of her questioning Cruz.

“Wondering why you didn’t do more to fight for President [Donald] Trump on January 6th?” she asked.
Cruz then claimed that he led the objections to President Joe Biden’s victory, adding that the Senate voted it down.
“But you could have done more. I mean, we all know that Joe Biden didn’t win this election,” she added. “I know in my heart of hearts that Joe Biden did not win this election.”
After flashing an uncomfortable look to the camera, Cruz nodded and again claimed he led the fight to overturn the election.
“At the end of the day, you got to have the votes on the floor of the Senate,” he added.
She then asked what Cruz is doing to prevent “Big Tech from silencing conservatives,” likely referencing the Facebook Oversight Board’s decision to uphold the ban on Trump’s account.
Cruz pledged that he is “leading the fight everyday” before moving on to take pictures with fans.
