President Donald Trump’s 2024 co-campaign manager, Chris LaCivita, joined Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) re-election campaign as an adviser on Monday, just a few months after Trump gave his former enemy a glowing endorsement.

“President Trump has made it clear that he wants Senator Graham by his side to keep delivering results and I’m proud to do my part to ensure that happens,” said LaCavita in a statement. “I’m excited to help reelect Senator Graham as he continues to bring the America First agenda home to South Carolina.”

Graham, meanwhile, said LaCivita’s addition to the campaign would “help us keep winning for South Carolina.”

Trump endorsed Graham for re-election in March, describing the senator as a “wonderful friend.”

“Lindsey has been a wonderful friend to me, and has always been there when I needed him,” wrote Trump in his endorsement. “Senator Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. Everyone in South Carolina should help Lindsey have a BIG WIN next year!”

During the 2016 presidential election, Graham served as one of Trump’s most prominent critics before later allying himself with the president after it was clear he was there to stay.

“I want to talk to the Trump supporters for a minute. I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know why you like this guy,” said Graham during a 2015 interview with CNN. “He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot. He doesn’t represent my party. He doesn’t represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for.”

Trump, meanwhile, described Graham at the time as an “idiot,” a “disgrace,” a “nut job,” and, “one of the dumbest human beings.”
