‘I Will Be Voting For Trump’: Nikki Haley Backs Trump After Brutal Primary in Which She Called Him ‘Disgusting’ and ‘Unhinged’

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley announced during her first public appearance since dropping out of the GOP primary that she will back Donald Trump this November.
Haley’s endorsement of the former president comes after she referred to Trump as “disgusting” and “unhinged” during their primary competition. After Trump claimed Black Americans would support him more because of his criminal indictments, Haley called his comment’s “disgusting” and a “huge warning sign” Republicans would lose in November with him as the nominee.
Moreover, during the primary Haley also questioned Trump’s mental fitness to work in the Oval Office again, adding that he is “more diminished than he was” during his first term.
However, speaking at the Hudson Institute in Washington on Wednesday, Haley told attendees that she would be voting for her formal rival because “Biden has been a catastrophe.”
“Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear many, many times,” Haley said. “But Biden has been a catastrophe.”

She encouraged Trump to reach out to her moderate Republicans and conservatives who voted for her during the primary in order to better unite the party this November.
“I will be voting for Trump. Having said that, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech,” she noted. “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me.”
Three months ago Haley had told members of the press that Trump was unfit to serve in office because he mocked her husband who actively serves in the military, adding “We can’t have someone that sits and mocks men and women trying to protect America. It’s a pattern of chaos. It’s a pattern of irresponsibility.”
