Stephen Miller’s Outlandish Fanboy Trump Flattery Brought to Life by CNN’s Abby Phillip’s Supercut
Stephen Miller, a former White House aide to former President Donald Trump, is still an enormous fan of his boss, perhaps to a hyperbolic level.
CNN’s Abby Phillip introduced a supercut of Miller gushing over Trump by pointing out: “In American politics, there is a time-honored tradition of aides lavishing praise to inflate the egos of their bosses. And then there is Stephen Miller.”
Beginning with this week’s moment in which Miller described Trump as “a style icon” who “changed American fashion,” Phillip launched into a retrospective of some of Miller’s most sycophantic moments. Here are a few choice quotes, and maybe listen to some Wagner while reading them:
“Donald Trump has an encyclopedic memory.”
“President Trump is the most gifted politician of our time.”
“The president is a political genius who won against a field of 17 incredibly talented people, who took down the Bush dynasty, who took down the Clinton dynasty.”
“Donald Trump is the only man that people know has crossed that Rubicon. Burned the ships to cinders.”
“I saw a man who was a political genius. Somebody who we would be going down, landing in descent. There’d be a breaking news development, and in 20 minutes, he would dictate ten paragraphs of new material.”
“He’s the best orator to hold that office in generations.”
But Miller’s deep insight into Trump’s mugshot, taken when he surrendered in Fulton County on charges related to trying to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results, were something else:
They say that the eyes are the window into the human soul. That blazing set of eyes that we saw in that photograph revealed a soul that is literally burning with a righteous flame on behalf of 300 million Americans. That is one of the most powerful images that I have ever seen. One man and his two eyes look straight into the hearts of the American people and said, “I will not give up. I will not back down. I will not surrender. I will see this through no matter how it ends. They will not break me.
