Trump Contradicts His Own Administration on Census Citizenship Question Being Nixed: ‘FAKE!’
President Donald Trump says his administration is still moving forward with a plan to ask if people are citizens on the census despite a Supreme Court ruling against the plan and contradicting his own administration.
The News Reports about the Department of Commerce dropping its quest to put the Citizenship Question on the Census is incorrect or, to state it differently, FAKE! We are absolutely moving forward, as we must, because of the importance of the answer to this question.

“The News Reports about the Department of Commerce dropping its quest to put the Citizenship Question on the Census is incorrect,” Trump said.
The president is directly contradicting Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who said the question will not be on the 2020 Census due to a Supreme Court decision sending debate over the question to a lower court.
Trump is also contradicting the Department of Justice, who confirmed Tuesday that the census is being printed without the questions.
Statement from Wilbur Ross, Trump’s own commerce secretary, yesterday:
“The Census Bureau has started the process of printing the decennial questionnaires without the question.” https://t.co/NYNrizjTdW— Grace Segers (@Grace_Segers) July 3, 2019
The DOJ confirmed the census is being printed without the questions. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said they’re moving forward.
I asked the White House last night if this meant the administration is dropping the matter and that wasn’t addressed. https://t.co/wibTCVCAU3

The administration has also reportedly already ordered the Census Bureau to begin printing census forms without the question.
