WATCH: This Campaign Ad Featuring Rod Blagojevich Shilling for a Pro-Trump Candidate is a Hysterical Trainwreck

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich apparently decided to appear in a very corny campaign ad to promote a pro-Donald Trump candidate running for Orland Township Supervisor.

Scott Kaspar, a trial lawyer seeking to defeat incumbent Paul O’Grady, released a video this week where he makes the argument that his rival engages in cronyism and numerous forms of political mismanagement. Blagojevich walks in front of the camera at one point in the video before awkwardly hovering near Kaspar’s table and eventually sitting down to join him.

“I couldn’t help but overhear you talking about politicians getting in trouble. Well, I know something about that,” Blagojevich said in a completely unsubtle reference to the corruption conviction that led to his prison sentence before Trump commuted him.

The video goes on with Blagojevich calling “bullsh*t” on O’Grady calling himself a “Trumpocrat,” a term Blagojevich came up with for himself as he publicly declared his loyalty to Trump. This segued into Blagojevich making a cringey reference to the time when he appeared on Celebrity Apprentice.

When it comes to being a Trumpocrat, I consider myself an expert. After all, I’m the only guy in American history to have ever been fired and freed by the same guy.
