Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Defeated in Close Race

Democrat Tony Evers was elected the Governor of Wisconsin, defeating incumbent Scott Walker (R).
The Associated Press called the neck-and-neck race early Wednesday morning:

The victory from Evers, the state superintendent of public instruction, marks an important win for Democrats on a night where few of their marquee candidates — like Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Gillum and Stacey Abrams — managed to eek out wins over Republicans.
Earlier on Tuesday night, conservative commentator and Wisconsin native Charlie Sykes was asked on MSNBC what Walker’s obituary would read. He replied: “That he survived recalls, he survived protests, but he couldn’t survive Trump in 2018.”
Meanwhile, NBC News reporter Benjy Sarlin emphasized Walker’s ties to Trumpism:
Yes, Florida. But Scott Walker and Kris Kobach occupy unique spots in political mythology. You can argue Walker did more to grease the runway for Trump than anyone not named Mitch McConnell. Those are gigantic losses for R’s if numbers hold.
