Fox News’ Laura Ingraham Edges Out MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell in Total Viewers Wednesday – But Just Barely

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham topped the 10 p.m. timeslot Wednesday, edging out MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell in total viewers, while the first hour of Don Lemon‘s show on CNN landed in third.
The Ingraham Angle notched 2.02 million total viewers, and 398,000 in the valuable demographic of viewers age 25-54, according to data from Nielsen. The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell was a very close second, with 1.92 million total viewers, and 247,000 in the demo. The first hour of Don Lemon Tonight was a relatively distant third, with 825,000 total viewers, and 208,000 in the demo.
There were no surprises in the top five most-watched shows on cable news Wednesday, with Tucker Carlson Tonight taking the top spot in both total viewers, with 2.91 million, and in the demo, with 486,000. The Five was a close second in total viewers, with 2.83 million, and fourth in the demo, with 397,000. Hannity was third in total viewers, with 2.58 million, and second in the demo, with 420,000. The Rachel Maddow Show was fourth in total viewers, with 2.56 million, and fifth in the demo, with 343,000. The Ingraham Angle was fifth in total viewers, with 2.02 million, and third in the demo, with 398,000.
Fox News topped the competition in total day, averaging 1.48 million total viewers and 258,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second in total viewers, with 1.22 million, and third in the demo, with 152,000. CNN was third in total viewers, with 684,000, and second in the demo, with 162,000.
Fox also swept prime time, averaging nearly 2.5 million total viewers, and 435,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second, with 2.04 million total viewers, and 266,000 in the demo. CNN was third, with 981,000 total viewers and 243,000 in the demo.
Fox and Friends won the early morning, with 1.13 million total viewers and 219,000 in the demo – more demo viewers that MSNBC and CNN combined at that time. Morning Joe was second, with 945,000 total viewers, and 108,000 in the demo. New Day was third, with 489,000 total viewers and 104,000 in the demo.
