Aaron Rodgers Uses Achilles Recovery to Take a Shot at Fauci: ‘If Science Is Dr. Fauci, You’re Damn Right I’m Defying Science’
In what has now become a weekly tradition, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers used his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show to remind everyone he’s against the Covid-19 vaccine.
Over the last few weeks, Rodgers has mocked Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for doing vaccine ads and even challenged him to a vaccine debate on the show. On Tuesday, while discussing his ambitious goal to return from his achilles tendon tear much sooner than expected, Rodgers couldn’t help but take the opportunity to throw shade at former chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci.
“Look at his achilles,” McAfee said. “This guy does stuff his own way. He actually defies science, this guy right here. That’s what they’re saying about you.”
Rodgers, as one might expected, embraced the reputation.
“Like we learned,” Rodgers responded, “if science is Dr. Fauci, you’re damn right I’m defying science.”
It’s the second consecutive week Rodgers has mentioned Fauci on the show. Last Tuesday, Rodgers challenged Kelce to a debate after Kelce responded to Rodgers calling him “Mr. Pfizer.” Rodgers then insisted the two debate as if it were a duel from the movie John Wick: Chapter 4, with each man having a second person to assist them. For Kelce, he suggested Fauci. For himself, Rodgers claimed he would enlist the services of presidential candidate — and fellow vaccine skeptic — Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
