Jeffrey Epstein described Donald Trump as his “closest friend” in the latest bombshell recordings released by author Michael Wolff in conjunction with The Daily Beast.
Wolff interviewed Epstein in 2017, two years before the billionaire died by suicide in his Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Wolff wrote that he began releasing the recordings Thursday, “after the model Stacey Williams came forward to discuss how Trump had abused her when she was Epstein’s girlfriend in the 1990s.”
On the new audio released Saturday evening, Epstein claimed Trump was his “closest friend for 10 years,” and described Trump as both “charming” and “a horrible human being.”
“He is charming; he is able to convince people. It’s very much like Clinton. Both Bill and Donald have the ability to go over to a fat, ugly woman, say, ‘You are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.’ So, he tells everybody what they want to hear. And that is charming.”
Epstein continued, “He does nasty things to his best friends, his best friends’ wives. Anyone who he first tries to gain their trust, and then uses it to do bad things.”

In another clip, Wolff asked about Trump’s intelligence.
“With respect to real estate deals, he’s brilliant. He’s a salesman. He know real estate really well,” Epstein said. “Anything else but that, he knows nothing. No history, no strategy…he can’t read a spreadsheet, which is funny.”
Epstein also talked about how Trump would try to have sex with his friends’ wives.
Wolff wrote in The Daily Beast that Epstein, who went on to be known as one of the world’s most famous sexual predators, was “appalled” that Trump held the highest office in the land. Wolff wrote:
Among the reasons he agreed to talk to me was his own incredulity that Donald Trump, a man who, in their friendship, had displayed so many disqualifying attributes to high office, was on his way to becoming president—indeed, who became president. In short, even Jeffrey Epstein was appalled.
According to The Daily Beast, “Trump’s camp referred to the tapes’ release as ‘false smears’ and ‘election interference.'”
