Jesus did not take the wheel.
A parked empty bus covered in signs supporting Donald Trump reportedly rolled down an incline and crashed into a utility pole on Staten Island, shortly before a rally for the former president in the New York borough on Saturday. Reportedly, no one was injured.
Footage captured and uploaded online by user Damian Cross relays the aftermath of the incident. The eight-minute-long video shows the bus wedged between the utility pole and a gas station price sign. Signs reading, “TRUMP: Law and Order,” “TRUST JESUS,” Women FOR TRUMP,” “LET’S GO BRANDON,” and others adorned the vehicle.
“It was parked by the CVS and it just rolled down,” says a man in the video, off camera. “Nobody was in it.”
“It was parked by the CVS and it rolled?” says the man filming. “Holy crap.”

As the man filming went around the side of the bus, a giant sign saying, “TRUMP STORE” could be seen.
“This, right after Trump gets declared guilty,” he says.
The former president was convicted on Thursday in New York on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. His trial took place in Lower Manhattan, which overwhelmingly voted against Trump in 2016 and 2020. Staten Island, which is a short ferry ride from the courthouse where he was found not guilty, voted for Trump both times.
The video captures workers trying to free the bus as police look on. A man in the video is heard saying the fire department came and left, seemingly after learning no one was hurt.
CORRECTION: This article originally stated former President Trump was holding a rally on Staten Island on Saturday. It has been corrected to say the rally was for Trump, who did not attend.
