Trump Addresses ‘Beautiful Process’ of SCOTUS Hearing Colorado Ballot Case: ‘A Phony Hoax!’
Former President Donald Trump dismissed a Supreme Court hearing over his eligibility on the Colorado ballot in a statement made from his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, calling it “a phony hoax!”
It was Trump’s first public appearance since the two-and-a-half-hour proceeding that captured the attention of the nation’s political media obsessives. He opened by making the same political points he makes during most political rallies, hitting President Joe Biden and praising his time in office with exaggeration and hyperbole that often fails to pass most fact-checks.
But he finally turned to the Supreme Court, where he said, “I thought it was very, it’s a very beautiful process. I hope that democracy in this country will continue.”
“There’s right now we have a very, very tough situation with all of the radical left ideas, with the weaponization of politics,” Trump continued. “They weaponized it like it’s never ever been weaponized before.” He then addressed a number of legal cases he’s facing, baselessly claiming, “It’s totally illegal, but they do it anyway, and it has to stop every one of the court cases that are involved, every single one civil, whether it’s the attorney general’s or the district attorney.”
“You look at fighting in Georgia. They had many meetings with the White House and with the DOJ. They went to eight-hour meetings,” he continued. “It was all staged. It was a phony hoax,” he said before apparently pivoting back to the Supreme Court hearing. “And now you look at it, and it is a phony hoax. Hopefully, that case will be dismissed in short order. It’s so it’s a disgrace to this country. But they work together with the Justice Department and the White House and are not supposed to do that.”
“Every one of these cases, you see comes out of the White House,” Trump claimed, reiterating many posts he makes on social media. “It comes out of Biden, it’s election interference. ”
