Former President Donald Trump promised to invent the country he led as president for four years, stating, “It’s gonna be called the United States of America.”

He made the bold pledge in a video posted to his Truth Social platform on Tuesday, in which he railed against President Joe Biden.

“These highly political Biden lawsuits and indictments shouldn’t be allowed to start until after the election is over,” Trump said. He then lashed out at Judge Tanya Chutkan – though not by name – for setting the start date for his criminal trial in Washington, D.C. on the day before Super Tuesday. Chutkan imposed a partial gag order on Trump prohibiting him from attacking court staff and witnesses in the case.

“These are corrupt people,” Trump continued. “Our Founding Fathers are looking down at Biden with scorn right now. They’re looking down at Biden and this administration with disbelief.”

The former president then informed viewers his election in 2024 will mean the creation of a geopolitical entity named “the United States.”

“We’re gonna have a great country – it’s gonna be called the United States of America,” he declared. “Thank you very much.”

Trump is the runaway favorite to win the Republican nomination despite being under criminal indictment in four jurisdictions, two of which are federal cases. He and the Trump Organization are also currently on trial in civil court in New York, where a judge issued a partial summary judgment in September, ruling that Trump defrauded banks and insurance companies by inflating the value of his assets to obtain favorable terms.
