Trump Stunned By Reporter Asking If He Regretted Posting Image of Himself as Pope

President Donald Trump was neither eager nor prepared to discuss an image he posted on social media of himself as Pope in the hours that followed Pope Leo XIV’s elevation to lead the Catholic Church.

Trump took to the White House driveway for a hastily assembled press gaggle. He reiterated his social media post about the “great honor” it was for the first American Pope to be elevated to lead the papacy.

An unidentified reporter brought up the controversial AI-generated image that Trump shared late last week, and asked, “Do you regret the image of yourself posted on social media dressed as the Pope?”

Trump appeared to be caught flat-footed by the question, paused for a moment, and simply ignored it, asking “What’s next?” to the assembled White House Press Corps members.
