WATCH: Iowa State Rep Busts Out Cringe Yoda Impression At Trump Rally for Some Reason

At Donald Trump’s Saturday rally in Ford Dodge, Iowa, a Republican State Representative had a couple of unusual moments during his remarks to the crowd, including a stilted “caucus” chant and a truly off-the-wall Yoda impersonation.

It’s not entirely clear what connection a beloved Star Wars character had to the MAGA rally, Trump, the 2024 election, or the remarks by State Rep. Mike Sexton at the Saturday event, but it was an interesting decision on how to close out his brief remarks before the gathered Trump voters.

Sexton launched some MAGA hats into the crowd before taking the podium and launching into various MAGA slogans.

“Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, your attention pleeeease,” said Sexton to start, drawing it out in an oddly stylized way before shouting, “Are you ready for a new president of the United States of America?!”

After several minutes of shouting talking points on everything from immigration, transgender athletes, and sending terrorists to meet their “72 virgins,” he eventually tried to hype the crowd for the January 15 Republican primary caucus.

Pumping his fist (sort of), he shouted “Caucusing For Trump! Caucusing for Trump! Caucusing for Trump!” as the crowd tried to synchronize with the awkward chant but quickly abandoned the effort.

Then he really put on the show.

“In my time I have left. One of my great heroes, the Great Jedi master himself, master Yoda,” he said.

Then, in his Yoda voice: “Mmm the dark side is very powerful in Biden. Crooked is he. Your country, he does not care. The force is strong in Trump. Win he must. Help him, you can. Caucus for him, you shall. For without his victory, all hope is lost.”

It was … unique. But not entirely unprecedented.
