Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake Ahead of Trump’s Rally: ‘I Don’t Worry About’ His Attacks
Arizona Senator Jeff Flake is up for reelection next year, and the President has been on record as not a big fan of his.
Just last week President Trump boosted Flake’s Republican challenger Kelli Ward on Twitter and referred to the GOP incumbent as “toxic”:
Great to see that Dr. Kelli Ward is running against Flake Jeff Flake, who is WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate. He’s toxic!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 17, 2017
And now the President is going to Phoenix tonight for a campaign rally, inviting speculation about whether he will go after Flake yet again.
Yesterday, when he was asked about that tweet from last week, Flake said, “I don’t worry about it at all.”
He declined to weigh in on Trump appearing to endorse Ward, saying, “I’m running my own campaign, it’s going well. And what the President does, that’s his prerogative.”
