Bill Maher Dismisses Kavanaugh Misconduct Allegation: ‘I Think It Makes Us Look Bad’
On Friday night, Bill Maher weighed in on the new accusation made against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
This week, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) turned over a letter she received back in July to federal investigators. from a woman who claimed Kavanaugh attempted to sexually assault her while drunk at a party in high school.
Kavanaugh offered up this firm denial.
“I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time.”
Maher opened up the conversation to his panel.
“What do you think of this Brett Kavanaugh thing where suddenly right before he’s gonna get the vote- and he’s the ultimate suck-up and dick,” Maher said. “I mean, he’s only there because he’s gonna, you know, vote with pardoning Trump, basically letting him off the hook.”
The Real Time host then delved into the specifics of the allegations, expressing some skepticism in the process.
“But now they’re coming at him with this accusation from someone anonymous who that he was at a party, which I find hard to believe, in high school,” Maher continued.
“And drunk, allegedly” former White House advisor Richard Clarke chimed in, “which I find hard to believe.”
“That doesn’t excuse it,” Maher responded. “but sexual assault in high school from an anonymous source- I think it makes us look bad.”
“It’s not going to stop him,” Clarke insisted. “He’ll get in. It’s sad… We need all to pray for Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”
