Fox News’ Bret Baier is still trying to get an interview with President Trump, and while talking about that today he noted how this is not a problem for the “opinion side” of Fox News.
Back in August, Baier noted how it was 300 days since his last Trump interview. (It’s now close to 500.) And indeed, Baier has not gotten an interview with Trump since he’s become the president.
When the subject came up again today at a Washington Post, Baier noted how “the opinion side of Fox News does not have a problem getting interviews” while he and Chris Wallace are still trying to book the President.
Baier said when he interacted with Trump at an off-the-record event, the President essentially told him, “It’s gonna happen very soon.”
The Special Report anchor also defended his network from criticisms that, as he put it, paint the network with too broad a brush.
He invoked Sean Hannity to say there’s a clear difference between news programs like his and opinion programs like Hannity’s, offering his colleague some praise for the “amazing job” he does in primetime.
