Chuck Todd: Some GOP Donors Think Christie’s ‘2016 Hopes are Done’
Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday, NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd said that the Republican donors who joined New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at a Florida fundraiser over the weekend were not impressed by the governor as he deals with the unfolding fallout from the scandal involving the George Washington Bridge.
“They say that the guy they met this weekend is the shell of his former self,” Todd said of the GOP donors that met in Florida this weekend. “He was not himself.”
“If that’s the guy that’s going to be nationally, his 2016 hopes are done,” he continued.

“He’s finding out he made some enemies maybe he didn’t know he had made,” Todd added. “This is going to get ugly now.”
Todd said that he saw developments like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani defending Christie and the governor’s office striking back at MSNBC for airing repeated attacks on the New Jersey governor’s ethics as evidence of a “bunker mentality.”
