CNN Host Cracks Up After Hearing Bill Clinton Was ‘Very Interested’ in Katy Perry Concert
CNN host Carol Costello got a case of the giggles Monday morning after a guest said that former president Bill Clinton was “very interested” during a Katy Perry concert held over the weekend for his wife.
“I know Clinton got a boost over the weekend from none other than Katy Perry,” Costello said to CNN’s senior Washington correspondent Jeff Zeleny. While Costello clearly meant Hillary Clinton, Zeleny went on to accidentally imply that Bill, ahem, “got a boost” from Perry as well.
“She was in Iowa over the weekend. She was performing to a crowd of several thousand people in downtown Des Moines on Saturday, including Bill Clinton who was watching from the sidelines,” Zeleny reported. “I can tell you he was very interested in this, uh, in this concert.”
Costello could be heard laughing in the background as Zeleny finished his report. “I’m still laughing about your line, ‘Bill Clinton was certainly interested in it!’ I don’t know what that meant, but it made me laugh,” she said afterwards.
“Of course, because of her music,” Costello added while still laughing.
