Rep. Devin Nunes came home to roost and get his feathers preened at Fox & Friends Monday morning, and to make clear that the Democratic establishment wants him out of the picture because he’s a crusader for truth.
“The Democrats were well aware that I did not leak information,” Nunes said. “They advocated for my removal from the committee, and why is that? It’s because we’ve been successful at getting to the bottom of a lot of real problems with the institutions in our government.”
Brian Kilmeade joked with Nunes at the top of the segment about being a “Russian agent” and asked: “Have you been compromised by the Russians?”
“As of right now I’m not aware of it, but they work very mysteriously,” Nunes quipped. “We’ve been chasing Russian ghosts around colluding with the Trump campaign. We haven’t found them yet, but we’re still looking.”
“To a lot of Republicans you’re a hero because you’re exposing the wrongdoings, but if you ask Democrats, at least the ones that were on the Sunday shows, they’re saying you’re the one doing something wrong,” Ainsley Earhardt said. “They said you coordinated all of this with the White House, what is your reaction?”
“Mr. Schiff knows he is spreading false narrative there. But that’s not new for him. He’s spread false narrative the entire time,” Nunes replied. “There’s no question they want me gone, but whatever they accuse you of doing, is what they’re doing.”
Incidentally, President Donald Trump is one of the Republicans for whom Nunes is a hero – a “Great American Hero,” no less:
Representative Devin Nunes, a man of tremendous courage and grit, may someday be recognized as a Great American Hero for what he has exposed and what he has had to endure!
