Dinesh D’Souza Finds the ‘Common Thread’ in Ferguson and ISIS

Conservative filmmaker and thought leader Dinesh D’Souza sees a parallel between the Islamic terrorist group ISIS and the unfolding events in Ferguson, Mo.

In an interview with NewsMax on Thursday, D’Souza said the Obama administration, with the help of MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton, are “fostering an atmosphere” in Ferguson that presumes guilt against the white police officer who killed 18-year-old black man Michael Brown.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has been leading a federal investigation into the events surrounding the Brown shooting. Since the Aug. 9 incident, Ferguson has been in a state of unrest, with some looting taking place. Sharpton has led rallies in the city calling for the arrest of the officer, Darren Wilson.

“The common thread between ISIS and what’s going on in Ferguson,” D’Souza said, “Is you have these people who basically believe that the correction to perceived injustice is to inflict all kinds of new injustices.”

D’Souza referred to the recent beheading of American journalist James Foley by ISIS. “Behead guys who have nothing to do with it,” he said. “Go and loot shops from business owners who are not part of the original problem whatsoever. And all of this is then licensed by the left and licensed to some degree by the media.”
