Fox Hosts Praise Trump’s ‘Genius’ Reversal of High Tariffs: ‘This Was the Plan All Along’
Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham praised President Donald Trump’s reversal of high tariffs on Wednesday, calling the U-turn “genius” and claiming it “was the plan all along.”
On Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, Ingraham praised Trump’s “brilliant move.”
“Trump announced a brilliant move to pause the higher tariffs on countries negotiating with us, but meanwhile to raise China’s tariffs to 125%, to wall off China by boxing them out, further weakening their economic power,” she said. “It’s genius.”
On his podcast The Sean Hannity Show, Wednesday, Hannity lashed out at the “stupid people” who criticized Trump’s recent tariffs which sent the stock market into a nosedive.
“I’m just loving the reaction of stupid people,” he said. “All of these people that have been trying to create in other people’s minds that Donald Trump does not know what he’s doing.”
Hannity continued, “The Treasury secretary, Bessent, just confirmed what I had pretty much understood because I know the guy so well. This was the plan all along. I’ve been saying this… He’s lining up all these nations, one after another after another, to the point where they’re begging to do a deal with us.”
Breitbart News also praised Trump’s reversal with the front page headline, “Art of the Deal: Trump Tariff Pause… Friendly Nations Down to 10% While We Negotiate… China Rate Cranked Up to 125%… Stocks Soar Immediately… World Unites Against CCP.”
Several other supporters, including hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and ACT For America founder Brigitte Gabriel also praised Trump’s “Art of the Deal,” while White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller championed “Trump’s master strategy, bold statesmanship and brilliant tactical planning.”
The stock market went up on Wednesday after Trump announced a 90-day pause on high tariffs for more than 75 countries that are reportedly in negotiation with the United States.
