Fox News Busts Giuliani For Claim He Never Said There Was No Collusion Between Trump Campaign and Russia
Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has been getting roasted for telling CNN’s Chris Cuomo that “I never said there was no collusion between the campaign” and Russia. And Fox News has now busted Giuliani’s claim wide open with video showing he said just that.
On Wednesday night, Giuliani told Cuomo that “I never said there was no collusion between the campaign, or between people in the campaign,” but that he did say there was no collusion on behalf of the “President of the United States.”
But on Thursday afternoon’s edition of Shepard Smith Reporting, Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts brought the receipts to prove that Giuliani’s claim was false.
Roberts played several clips of Giuliani making qualified declarations that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, but then rolled a clip from the July 30, 2018 edition of Fox’s Outnumbered.
“Regardless of whether or not collusion would be a crime, is it still the position of you and your client that there was no collusion with the Russians whatsoever on behalf of the Trump campaign?” guest co-host Guy Benson asked Giuliani during a phone interview.
“Correct,” Giuliani replied.
“Correct,” Roberts noted, for emphasis. “He said there was no collusion on behalf of the Trump campaign. So that would seem to broaden it out to the entire campaign and not just his client, the president of the United States.”
