The giant diaper-clad Trump baby blimp that will fly over London during President Donald Trump’s visit will soon embark on a world tour.
On Thursday, London mayor Sadiq Khan approved the request for the giant baby blimp to fly over the city near Parliament on July 13 at the same time as a protest will be happening on the ground.
The organizers also said that their crowdfunding was so successful that not only will the blimp fly for Trump’s visit but will also be spotted in other worldwide locales.
“We originally thought that if we raised more money than we needed, we could give out mini-Trump Baby balloons to well-wishers on the 13th, but a lot of people got in touch to say that even biodegradable balloons pose a serious hazard to wildlife, so after surveying supporters we ditched that goal,” the organizers wrote on Crowdfunder. “So instead of 1000 tiny balloons, we have ordered a half-size Trump Baby designed to be filled with air – he’s made from thicker plastic so he’s a lot less fragile than the big boy – meaning he can join in the protests and knock about with people in the crowds.”
The organizers continued on, “BUT people have been SO generous and supportive that we now have WAY more money than we can sensibly spend just on Trump’s UK visit in July! So – Trump Baby is going on World Tour!”
Trump’s visit to England has him mostly skipping London, where he will only spend one night, in part due to the protests expected. His schedule also means he will miss seeing the baby blimp close-up during its London debut.
