Jennifer Rubin Calls For LL Bean/Alaska Cruises Boycotts to Stop Collins/Murkowski From Confirming SCOTUS Pick
Jennifer Rubin offered her suggestion to prevent the confirmation President Donald Trump‘s Supreme Court nominee.
After Michael Moore declared that he was going to stand outside the U.S. Capitol with a “million other people” to physically prevent the confirmation vote from happening in the Senate, Rubin urged him to think “smart.”
“Instead of circling the capitol with a million people, take the million people to Maine and go to L.L. Bean and tell them in Maine, ‘You need to leave Maine’ unless Susan Collins votes the right way,” Rubin said. “That’s how you play hardball. You do it smart. You go to Alaska, you say, ‘You know what, we’re gonna start boycotting Alaskan cruises until your senator votes Trump’s way.”
The self-described “conservative blogger” from The Washington Post insisted such tactics are how you would prevent Trump’s conservative nominee from being confirmed, but Moore still believed that we’re “going to get to the point” when they’re going to have to “circle Washington.”
“I’m sorry to say it, we could stop that now if we all rise up now,” Moore said. “I’m telling you, I’m not- I’m sorry, Bill. I’m not gonna participate in providing hope for people. That implies there’s no sense of urgency. This is now about somewhere over the rainbow, optimism is very dangerous, it’s not about warm and fuzzy now, this is about all of us coming together to stop this madness and stop it now. And I don’t want this interview to be replayed five years from now on Season Seven of The Handmaid’s Tale.”
