Joe Biden Groans In Exasperation At Reporter’s Suggestion He Call Trump To ‘Tell Him To Stop’ With FEMA Misinformation

President Joe Biden groaned in audible exasperation at a reporter’s suggestion that he call former President Donald Trump and “tell him to stop” pushing misinformation about the federal disaster relief response to Hurricane Helene.

False claims about the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its response to Hurricane Helene have been widespread over the past week, pushed by Trump, his campaign, and MAGA Republicans. Several false claims are circulating that range from misrepresenting how disaster funding works to claiming that the Biden administration has already spent the emergency relief funding on housing immigrants.

During a press brief at the White House on Hurricane Milton, a second hurricane that was barrelling down on Florida on Wednesday night, journalists called out for comment from Biden response to Trump’s FEMA claims.

“Do you have a comment, sir?” one reporter called out.

“Un-American,” the president replied.

“Why do you think Trump is spreading misinformation?” another asked.

Biden responded: “I don’t know. I simply don’t know. You can speculate. But I just find it… I know I used the phrase more than I ever used in my whole career: un-American. It’s un-American. It’s not who the hell we are. What are they talking about?”

A further reporter called out: “Sir, have you considered calling him and asking him to stop doing that?”

Biden turned and groaned at the idea, looking at the reporter and replying simply, “Oh, come on.”
